Caring4Girls Pad Drive at Chesterville Secondary School

.africa goes beyond just connectivity.

Every month the majority of girls in Africa miss a week of school because they are on their period. This means that on average a girl child may miss up to 50 days of school each year because they lack access to sanitary products. Responding to this challenge civil society is giving a voice to the voiceless.

The Caring4Girls programme creates a voice for girls, in addition to distributing sanitary materials Caring4Girls provides health education on puberty and adolescence to demystify menstrual related myths and break down societal taboos.

As part of a 3 year partnership with Imbumba Foundation and Trek4Mandela, Registry Africa Ltd, the administrator of the .africa domain handed over a years’ supply to +- 500 girls at Chesterville Seondary School in Durban on the 13th of March 2020.
